Scandals

Posted on April 29, 2022February 11, 2024 By Gayla

As you might expect, there is no shortage of books about scandals. Here are some that are less tawdry yet still compelling.

Math Scandals

You can enjoy some math along with the high drama it can cause in this well-produced little book, Mathematical Scandals, by Sherman K. Stein.

Australian Scandals

Some of these scandals are great, but — check out the categories — you might want to be selective at bedtime, especially since these are Australian scandals. Borrow Great Australian Scandals, by George Blaikie, from the Internet Archive.

Historic Scandals

For an interesting selection of scandals across the years, from the Marquis de Sade to Bill Clinton, check out History’s Greatest Scandals: Shocking Stories of Powerful People, by Ed Wright.

Political Scandals

Organized by country. Political Scandals and Causes Célèbres Since 1945: An International Reference Compendium. Some of these are pretty quaint, looking back from today’s perspective.

Royal Mistress Scandals

The Mistresses: Domestic Scandals of Nineteenth-Century Monarchs, by Betty Kelen.
