Sex Tips for Girls • by Cynthia Heimel

Posted on January 31, 2023 By Gayla

☀   You can borrow and read Sex Tips for Girls free below.   ☀

Ok, first of all, this classic ebook about sex, by Cynthia Heimel is old — from 1983. Those were confusing days for feminism, and if some of the content feels dated, that’s good news because it means things have gotten better for women.

Still, feel free to skim past the anachronisms in Sex Tips for Girls to focus on the great stuff, of which there is plenty. The table of contents is worth an ogle.

Good sex advice for women, delivered with humor and heart

Sex Tips for Girls, although fairly relentlessly humorous, really is full of good tips when it comes to sex and relationships. It is an empowering book, encouraging women to respect and heal and love themselves and avoid guilt all down the line.

Flirting is a zestful, invigorating pastime. It is the mental equivalent of doing twenty pushups and jogging five miles, since a good flirt must use her brain at about three times normal speed.

Like riding a bicycle or performing brain surgery, flirting is an acquired skill that, once you get the hang of it, is a piece of cake.

The first thing a successful flirt does is get it firmly fixed in her mind that she is God’s gift to men.

Heimel offers plenty of useful advice on a wide range of sex-related topics. For instance, “Always remember that lingerie is not clothes…. When buying lingerie, think filthy thoughts, and think about men.” Her advice is sometimes unconventional but has the advisee’s best interests at heart as well as its own kind of common sense truth. Throughout, Heimel looks to further the reader’s psychological growth in a respectful, kind, best-friend way. And she’s always encouraging women to be themselves.

In “How to Shop” she begins with:

1. Lie down. When embarking on anything major, it’s always a good idea to be prone. Daydream a little. Fantasize. Play around. Put on a record. This activity will enable your unconscious to unbutton its lip a little, and eventually it will come to you that, although you seem to spend all your time wearing tweedy suits because of your job at the university, what you really want is a great big red velour jump suit with a nipped-in waist.

funny sex tips for women based on real-life experience

The author illustrates the points she makes with some entertaining true stories from the lives of herself and her friends. There’s nothing like living a situation to give you the insight to give advice about it.

Some of the topics, such as how to get a good haircut, don’t seem sex-related at first, but they do affect a woman’s feelings of sexiness. There are actual sex tips in the book, as well, which are forthright and useful.

Most of all, Sex Tips for Girls is a fun book. It dares to explain to you how to lose ten pounds in a week with the Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll Diet.

Day One

Jump out of bed in the morning and immediately do:
2-4 lines of cocaine, well chopped.
1 cup yogurt, unsweetened.

Heimel ends the chapter on “Outfits” with a section called “Letting Go”.

There comes a time in every girl’s life when it is psychologically imperative to dispense with all thoughts of clothes and image. One never knows when the thought of washing one’s hair, plucking one’s eyebrows, and finding the perfect socks will plunge one into deep, irretrievable melancholy.

… Ignore this feeling at your peril. Get your body immediately into some nice, soft, comfortable jeans and tattered sweatshirt. Eschew makeup, don’t wash your hair.

This will feel great, a lot like the way our foremothers felt when taking off their corsets of an evening. If your man doesn’t like it, fuck him. Then he’ll either like it fine or he’s some kind of lame-brain who doesn’t expect you to be the multifaceted enigma that you are. If he doesn’t like it, he doesn’t have to look at you. He can read a book.

Eventually you will want to pretty yourself up again, but don’t rush it, you’ve got years to spare.
